Handmade Bespoke Biscuits Look Set To Be An Award Winner

The Thames Valley Venus Awards are celebrating the achievements of women in business across Berkshire.

The shortlist has been drawn up and Reading Business Forum caught up with semi-finalist Celia Smith of Bluebell Biscuiterie. Celia has been nominated for the Local Buzz Small Business Award.

“I’m  thrilled to be a Venus Awards 2018 Finalist,” says Henley-on-Thames based Celia.

“It’s great to be recognised in this way and it serves as a real pat on the back for our business.”

It’s no secret that people love biscuits. And it’s not a lie to say that Henley now has some of the best biscuits in the world being made on its doorstep.

That’s because Celia makes handmade makes beautiful, unique, personal iced handmade biscuits. They are made fresh to order using the finest ingredients and Celia is committed to the highest quality.

“For freshness and flavour we use the finest ingredients including free range eggs, Madagascan vanilla and the best cocoa. The biscuits are not made until a day or two before the special occasion and our lovely customers tell us they not only look amazing but taste amazing too.”

And just looking at the designs on her website makes your mouth water.

“Our biscuits can be individually designed to complement event decorations, table settings, flowers and stationery. We love getting enquiries for more unusual designs and particularly love weddings – working with brides on ideas for their special day,” says Celia.

“We design cute biscuits as baby shower gifts, for new parents and for christenings. We also make fun birthday party favours and our biscuits are perfect as thank you, congratulations and ‘I love you’ gifts too, “Celia adds.

And what about company biscuits? After all, shouldn’t every good employer have a biscuit day at least once a month?

“We love working with corporate clients. Some companies like to treat their staff and some like to use biscuits in their corporate communications. It certainly beats emailing a client!”

Celia also runs biscuit icing workshops where she teaches biscuit lovers just how she does it.
